Sorghum Landscape

Reliable grain production in arid conditions

The «Krayevyd» sorghum variety, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops (Ukraine), is designed specifically to ensure stable yields in the steppe and forest-steppe zones. By focusing on grain production, it provides farmers with a predictable result even when faced with significant climatic challenges.

Key performance indicators

• Growing season: 90–100 days, allowing for timely harvesting before the onset of autumn precipitation.
• Grain characteristics: The dark-brown grain features high density, which facilitates efficient storage and minimizes loss during mechanical harvesting.
• Adaptability: Bred by experts Boris Dziubetskyi and Serhiy Antoniuk, the variety is fine-tuned for Ukrainian soil profiles and local environmental factors.

On-farm application

Farmers utilize «Krayevyd» as a vital component in crop rotation, particularly in areas prone to drought. As a dedicated grain-type sorghum, it is highly valued for its consistency. It serves as an excellent option for farmers looking to mitigate climate-related risks by planting a crop that maintains productivity when moisture is limited. Given its 100-day maturity cycle, «Krayevyd» is an effective choice for intensive farming systems, providing a solid, profitable yield that meets commercial grain quality standards.
