Description MARISUN
The Marson sunflower hybrid is an ultra-early variety developed using unique genetics based on the best parent lines from Serbia, France, and Spain. It is adapted to various soil-climatic conditions in Ukraine, including arid regions of the south and southeast, thanks to its short vegetation period of 92 to 97 days. This allows the plant to complete flowering before intense summer heat, which is especially important for areas with water deficit. Plant height ranges from 145 to 175 cm, and the flower head diameter is 19-24 cm, ensuring convenient harvest and high productivity.

Marson exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, such as downy mildew, fusarium, phomopsis, various types of rot, rust, and false powdery mildew. Special attention has been given to tolerance to the parasitic weed striga, with resistance to 7 races (A-G), making the hybrid a reliable choice for fields affected by this pest. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates high resistance to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve yield and reduce losses during harvest.

The Marson hybrid is designed for cultivation using the SUMO (under Granstar) technology and is characterized by high oil content in seeds — from 48 to 51% — with oil quality meeting the high-oleic type standard. Recommended planting density varies depending on moisture conditions and ranges from 50,000 to 65,000 plants per hectare. The hybrid thrives in steppe and forest-steppe zones and tolerates early spring sowing if soil temperature reaches +7...+9 °C. Its high yield potential, stability, and adaptability make Marson an optimal choice for farms aiming to produce a reliable and high-quality oil crop.
