Sunflower Marco ST

German genetics for clean fields

The sunflower hybrid "Marco ST" by Strube is a high-tech agricultural product designed for intensive farming. The German breeding school focused on creating a solution that eliminates the primary challenge for growers: weed control. The key selection vector here is compatibility with the "Clearfield" technology, which utilizes imidazolinone herbicides, specifically those branded as "Euro-Lightning".

Protective capacity

A distinctive feature of "Marco ST" is its specific resistance profile. At a time when many hybrids lose productivity due to phytopathogens, Strube offers a solution that minimizes the risk of common scab infections. The hybrid’s genetic makeup provides robust field resistance, enabling farmers to protect yield potential even in seasons with high infection pressure.

Market positioning and field application

Currently, "Marco ST" holds a strong niche position among hybrids for farms utilizing controlled weed management technologies. Unlike conventional hybrids, working with this Strube model requires precise adherence to herbicide application protocols: spraying during the 2–4 true leaf stage allows growers to effectively clean the fields without harming the sunflower's development. This hybrid demonstrates excellent adaptability across diverse soil and climatic zones, maintaining yield potential in various growing conditions. With a strong stem and a well-developed root system, "Marco ST" efficiently utilizes available moisture, making it a reliable and predictable tool for the modern farmer.
