MAS 852SU — this is a modern mid-season sunflower hybrid developed by the French company MAS Seeds® and adapted for cultivation in various soil-climate zones of Ukraine, including challenging conditions of forest-steppe and steppe. The hybrid is characterized by rapid early growth and high adaptability, ensuring successful plant development on different soil types and under various moisture levels. Seeds are treated with Maxim 025FS and supplied in bags of 150,000 seeds, sufficient for sowing on an area of 2.2–2.5 hectares. The recommended sowing rate varies depending on moisture: 50–55 thousand/ha under insufficient moisture, and 60–65 thousand/ha under adequate moisture.
One of the key features of MAS 852SU is its resistance to race G of downy mildew and tolerance to major diseases, including false powdery mildew, frogepsis, verticillium wilt, and sclerotinia affecting both heads and stems. The hybrid is compatible with herbicide application technology based on tribenuron-methyl (Granstar), which is recommended to be applied during the 4–8 leaf stage, following application norms. High oil content in seeds — from 48 to 52% — makes this hybrid attractive for oilseed production.
MAS 852SU is characterized by high yield potential, reaching up to 40.8 centners/ha, and technological flexibility, enabling effective use of modern agronomic technologies. Plants have high stature and slightly convex head shape with semi-tilted orientation, which promotes optimal growth and harvest. Thanks to the combination of high productivity, disease resistance, and adaptability to climatic conditions, MAS 852SU is a reliable choice for farmers aiming for maximum efficiency and stability in sunflower production.
