MAS 80IR — an early-maturing hybrid sunflower of the Clearfield system, intended for cultivation in the Polissya and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. This variety features a very short growing cycle with a vegetative period of 95-100 days and early flowering, enabling it to successfully withstand critical temperature conditions. Plants have medium height, and the flower head shape is very convex and slightly downward-facing, which promotes effective pollination and fruit formation.
The MAS 80IR hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, making it suitable for different soil types. It shows stable yields of 50 centners per hectare and high oil content in seeds — 52%. The 1000-seed mass varies from 45 to 55 grams, indicating good seed quality. For seed treatment, it is recommended to use Agrostart and Poncho, which promotes better plant development and protection against diseases.
MAS 80IR exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases and stress factors. The hybrid is resistant to downy mildew (race E), false powdery mildew (race RM9), fomopsis, as well as stem and head rots. Additionally, it shows good resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. All these characteristics make MAS 80IR a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality sunflower yields.
