MAS 817P

Sunflower MAS 817P is an early-maturing linoleic hybrid intended for conventional cultivation. The vegetation period is 100-105 days, and plant height is medium, facilitating agronomic operations. Seeds are supplied in packages of 150,000 units, sufficient for sowing on 2.2-2.5 hectares. Seed treatment is performed with AGROSTART and PONCHO D150, as well as with fungicides Maxim XL and Poncho, which help protect against diseases and pests in early growth stages.

Hybrid MAS 817P exhibits high resistance to race G of the downy mildew (Peronospora), significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Moreover, the sunflower shows tolerance to major diseases, including ramularia (RM3), phomopsis, and sclerotinia affecting both heads and stems, with resistance ratings of 6 to 9 on a 10-point scale. High drought tolerance (9) and resistance to lodging (9) make this hybrid a reliable choice for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones.

MAS 817P is characterized by high yield and oil content under various growing conditions. Oil content in seeds varies from 44-52%, ensuring high economic efficiency. Recommended seeding rate depends on soil moisture: 50-55 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 60-65 thousand under adequate moisture. The 1000-seed weight is 50-55 grams, indicating good seed quality. Seed production takes place in France, Spain, and Ukraine, and the hybrid's originator is MAS Seeds® Ukraine.
