Antonio sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid developed for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. It is characterized by its early maturity with a vegetative period ranging from 95 to 111 days, depending on growing conditions. Plants reach a height of 160-175 cm, promoting good development and resilience to adverse factors. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, including 6 races of downy mildew, and is tolerant to root lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for various soil-climate zones in the country. Antonio sunflower seeds have a 1000-seed mass ranging from 50 to 88 grams, indicating high-quality planting material. Oil content in the seeds reaches 49-52%, ensuring high economic efficiency of cultivation. The hybrid’s yield potential ranges from 40 to 52 centners per hectare, and under optimal conditions, it can reach 55-60 centners per hectare. The recommended planting density varies from 50,000 to 60,000 plants per hectare, facilitating maximum use of the crop’s agronomic potential. The Antonio hybrid was developed by the All-Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Selection and registered in the State Register in 2016. It is adapted to conventional cultivation practices with fungicide seed treatment, enhancing resistance to diseases and stress conditions. Uniform ripening and even planting ensure convenient harvesting and stable yields. Due to its ecological plasticity and resistance to sulfonylurea herbicides, this sunflower is an optimal choice for farmers seeking high productivity and product quality.
