Soybean variety Jacklin was developed by multiple individual selections from a hybrid obtained by crossing the varieties Iskra and Elena. This variety was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine since 2020, and is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and Polissia regions. Jacklin belongs to the Manchurian subspecies and the ukrainika testing group. Plants reach a height of 72-75 cm, have brown stems with reddish pubescence. Seeds are oval, yellow with a brown central hilum and white "eye". The weight of 1000 seeds is 168-170 g.
The variety is characterized by its early maturity: in the conditions of the Kyiv region, it matures in 100-105 days. The seeds contain 40-41% protein and 21-22% fat, making it valuable for obtaining high-quality yields. Jacklin is resistant to infection by the most common diseases, as well as to low temperatures during flowering and fruiting. Due to its early maturity, the variety can be used as a preceding crop for winter crops.
Optimal growing conditions for Jacklin include row spacing of 19+38+19 cm and a seeding rate of 750,000 seeds per hectare, which ensures maximum yield of up to 2.72 t/ha. To obtain the highest content of protein and fat in the seeds, it is recommended to cultivate with row spacing of 38+38+38 cm and a seeding rate of 450,000 seeds per hectare. The variety is recommended for main sowing in forest-steppe areas of Ukraine and is distinguished by high adaptability and productivity.
