Description Tanais
TANAIS soybean is a medium-oil variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissya region. The vegetative period lasts 85-90 days, allowing for harvest in relatively short time. Plants reach a height of 75-85 cm, ensuring ease of care and harvesting. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and major diseases such as perinosporosis, septosporosis, and ascochitosis, and also possesses a good level of protection against bean webworm, significantly reducing yield losses.

Tanais is distinguished by its high seed oil content — 20-21%, making it attractive for oil production. The recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on row width: 15 cm — 790-820 thousand plants per hectare, 19.2 cm — 770-810 thousand, 30 cm — 760-800 thousand. This allows optimizing planting density for maximum productivity. Seeds of the variety are small, yellow-green in color with a yellow hilum, which is a characteristic feature of this variety.

The Tanais variety belongs to semi-determinate and indeterminate plant types, which affects growth form and duration. Protein content in seeds is 34.0-39.2%, and fat content is 24.7-25.1%, making this variety valuable for feed and food purposes. Average yield by region ranges from 10.7 to 25.5 c/ha, indicating the high productivity of the variety under various climatic conditions.
