Skorokhod

Salad Skorokhod is a mid-season variety of leaf cutting lettuce, maturing 48-50 days after sowing. It is recommended for growing in open ground and is characterized by a semi-vertical arrangement of leaves. The leaves are large, intensely colored with a reddish anthocyanic tint, have a delicate crisp texture and a weakly wrinkled surface, which gives the salad an attractive appearance and pleasant taste.

The lettuce rosette reaches a height of 30-33 cm and a diameter of 25-29 cm, while the mass of one plant is about 360 grams. To form a powerful and healthy rosette, regular and moderate watering is required, which prevents both waterlogging and soil drying out. The yield of the variety is 4-4.3 kg per square meter, which makes it profitable for growing both for personal and commercial purposes.

Sowing seeds is recommended directly into the ground in April-May, and for seedlings in March-April with subsequent planting in May. The optimal planting scheme is 25-30 cm between plants, which provides sufficient space for development and good ventilation.
