Lettuce LIMPOMO

Buttery tenderness in an early harvest

The «Limpopo» lettuce is a result of the breeding work by the «Gavrish» firm and the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production. It is tailored for growers who prioritize early yield and delicate leaf texture. Unlike crisp-leaf varieties, this buttery head lettuce is prized for its softness and succulence, making it a favorite for fresh salads and gourmet sandwiches.

Key advantages

• Early maturity: The short ripening period allows for a quick harvest, freeing up space for subsequent crops or capturing the early-season market.
• Texture: The buttery leaf type lacks coarse fibers, ensuring a superior mouthfeel compared to tougher varieties.
• Commercial appeal: The light green color of the rosette stands out on the shelf, offering a fresh and appetizing look that attracts consumers.

Cultivation specifics

This variety performs best in open ground or under plastic covers. The medium head weight makes it convenient for logistics and retail packaging. However, like all butterhead lettuces, «Limpopo» requires consistent moisture management. While the variety is stable, erratic watering can affect the leaf tenderness, so maintaining soil moisture is essential for achieving the best harvest results.

For small-scale farmers and home gardeners, «Limpopo» offers a reliable balance between easy maintenance and high product quality. It is an excellent choice for those looking for a consistent, professional-grade variety that delivers on taste and appearance.
