Carillon Beet is a high-quality variety developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan, characterized by cylindrical root crops about 20 cm long and a deep red color without light rings inside. The roots have a uniform structure and weigh between 250 to 400 grams, making them easy to slice and process. Due to its high sugar content, Carillon Beet has excellent taste qualities, making it ideal for making borscht, salads, juices, and preserves.
The vegetation period of this variety lasts from 90 to 110 days, allowing harvest to begin at the end of August, providing fresh vegetables both in summer and autumn. The plants form a strong rosette of leaves and show high resistance to diseases, which simplifies care and contributes to stable high yields.
