Rosehip Geisha

Heritage of Michurin Breeding

The «Geisha» rosehip is a notable Russian cultivar developed by the I.V. Michurin Federal Research Center. Designed to bridge the gap between ornamental beauty and industrial productivity, this variety has established itself as a versatile choice for both landscape design and commercial berry production. Its development reflects the tradition of the Michurin school, focusing on hardiness, adaptability, and high nutritional value.

Technical Specifications

For growers and agricultural enterprises, «Geisha» remains a reliable choice due to its consistent performance metrics:

• Nutritional Profile: The fruits are rich in Vitamin C, typically containing between 800 and 1200 mg%. This makes the variety an excellent candidate for pharmaceutical and food processing applications.
• Yield Capacity: Under optimal growing conditions, a single mature bush produces between 3 and 5 kg of fruit.
• Usage: The berries are suitable for fresh consumption, drying, and further processing into jams, syrups, and health-focused extracts.

The bright red, visually striking fruit matures uniformly, maintaining high quality for commercial handling. Its robust genetics ensure resilience against the climatic challenges often found in mid-latitude regions.

Market Positioning

Today, «Geisha» occupies a niche as a high-utility rosehip variety. Unlike purely ornamental species that offer little in terms of harvest, this cultivar provides a significant yield, making it an economically attractive option for berry farms. It is equally valued by nurseries looking for plants that provide both aesthetic appeal in garden settings and practical agricultural returns. Whether intended for high-end landscaping or consistent raw material supply, «Geisha» maintains a reputation as a balanced, dependable variety.
