Rainbow

The Rainbow rose variety is a hybrid derived from damask and Gallic roses (Rosa damascena Mill. x Rosa gallica L.). It is a perennial branched shrub, growing to a height of 1.5 to 1.8 meters, with thorny and hairy stems. The inflorescences can be semi-corymbose or multi-flowered racemes, while the flowers are large, measuring 6-7 cm in diameter, bright pink, full, consisting of 60 petals and weighing approximately 2.6 grams. Flowering occurs once but lasts a long time, spanning 20-25 days in June-July, making this variety attractive for decorative cultivation and essential oil harvesting. The Rainbow rose is characterized by high flower yield—approximately 39.8 centners per hectare, while the mass fraction of essential oil in the petals reaches 0.138%, allowing for the production of up to 5.48 kg of essential oil per hectare. Due to its technical and decorative qualities, this variety is high-tech and characterized by a high ability to form stems. Essential oil extracted from damask rose petals is known for its rich aroma and is valued in perfumery and cosmetology. Additionally, there is a stabilized form of the Rainbow rose that maintains its freshness and appearance for up to 10 years thanks to special processing, where natural juice is replaced with a glycerin-based solution. Such stabilized flowers are not artificial or dried flowers, but rather living plants, making them a wonderful and long-lasting gift. The height and diameter of the buds of the stabilized rose are approximately 6-8 cm, preserving the natural beauty and shape of the flower.
