Rose Galaktika

Built-in resilience: The ‘Galaktyka’ Shrub Rose

Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine, the ‘Galaktyka’ rose is engineered for those who prioritize agricultural efficiency without compromising on aesthetics. This shrub variety stands out for its high biological resilience, making it a reliable choice for professional landscape projects and home gardening alike.

Practical application and cultivation benefits

• Low-maintenance landscaping: Growing to a height of 60–80 cm, these shrubs form dense, well-structured masses, perfect for flowerbeds and garden borders. They require minimal pruning and training, significantly reducing labor costs.
• Disease and pest resistance: The cultivar is highly tolerant to common threats such as powdery mildew, rust, and various leaf spot diseases. Its natural resistance to aphids, rose leafhoppers, and rose chafers (Cetoniinae) minimizes the need for frequent pesticide applications, supporting more sustainable garden management.
• Climate adaptability: With frost resistance up to -35°C, ‘Galaktyka’ is exceptionally hardy. It eliminates the need for intensive winter protection protocols in most temperate zones, saving both time and financial resources for the grower.

Flowering cycle and decorative utility

The ‘Galaktyka’ rose features a sophisticated color palette, blending creamy, yellow, white, and red tones. The flat-shaped blossoms emerge in waves throughout the entire summer, ensuring consistent visual appeal. Because of its excellent resistance to grey mold (Botrytis), the flowers maintain their integrity even during periods of high humidity, providing a stable decorative effect throughout the growing season.
