Rootstock POZHIDAIEV'S FAVORITE

A robust foundation for pear orchards in harsh climates

The selection work of Igor Andrianovich Pozhidaev offers a specialized rootstock that changes the rules of the game in regions with severe winters. While most southern rootstocks perish at temperatures below -20°C, the "Lyubimets Pozhidaeva" demonstrates phenomenal frost resistance of up to -35°C. This makes it an indispensable tool for orchardists and professional farmers operating in high-risk agricultural zones.

Why does this rootstock stand out?

• Cold hardiness: Exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures eliminates the need to cover trunks or worry about root system damage during snowless winters.
• Superior graft compatibility: The variety was developed with a focus on seamless graft take. Unlike many wild forms, it ensures a strong graft union, reducing the risk of snapping and promoting tree longevity.
• Nutrient uptake: A well-developed root system enables the tree to thrive even in soil types that are not ideal for pears, ensuring a consistent supply of nutrients to the scion.

Who is this rootstock for?

"Lyubimets Pozhidaeva" is the optimal choice for those who prioritize survival and predictability in their orchard. If your location is prone to sharp temperature drops and freezing winters, this rootstock guarantees that your pear trees will not only survive but also provide a stable yield. Unlike generic clonal rootstocks, this material is specifically designed for endurance. It is the reliable solution for anyone establishing orchards in regions with challenging, continental climates where traditional varieties might fail.
