The Yunion strawberry variety represents a new high-yield variety intended for cultivation in southern regions, particularly well-suited for the North Caucasus region of Russia. This variety is characterized by an early ripening period and belongs to short-day varieties with a single wave of fruiting. Bushes are flat, moderately foliated, with medium-sized, green, slightly crinkled, and dull leaves. Crowns form in average quantities, they are red and slightly hairy. Flowers are perfect, white, medium-sized, with floral stalks located at the level of leaves. Yunion variety berries are conical in shape, red in color, with an average weight from 11.4 to 30 grams. The pulp is dark red, juicy and tender, with a sour-sweet taste and pleasant aroma. Berries contain about 7.9% sugars, 0.6% acids, and 77.4 mg% of vitamin C, ensuring a high tasting rating of fresh berries at the level of 4.8 points. The sugar-to-acid ratio (S/A) is 13.2, which highlights the harmonious taste of the fruits. The Yunion variety differs in good winter hardiness and high heat tolerance, while drought resistance is assessed as moderate. Resistance to diseases and pests is at the level of standard varieties, which makes it a reliable choice for gardeners. Thanks to its characteristics and universal purpose, this strawberry variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in protected conditions.
