Description

Sudaruska strawberry is a domestic medium-maturity variety of garden strawberry, bred by Russian breeder G.D. Alexandrova. This variety is distinguished by high adaptability to cold climates and poor weather conditions, making it particularly valuable for cultivation in northern regions. The bushes are vigorous, sprawling, and well-leafed, with long runners and flower stalks that do not protrude above the foliage. Plants prefer fertile soils, sunny areas, and respond positively to mulching with straw. Sudaruska has good winter hardiness, but covering is required for successful overwintering.

The berries of the Sudaruska variety are large, bright red with a glossy sheen, oval in shape, and weigh from 12 to 35 grams. The flesh is dense, acid-sweet with a pronounced strawberry aroma, making the fruits attractive both for fresh consumption and processing. The variety is versatile in application: berries are suitable for canning, jam making, freezing, and fresh consumption. The yield is stable, average — about 72.5 kg per 10 square meters (square sazhen), ensuring a good harvest with proper care.

The Sudaruska variety is not remontant, so fruiting occurs once per season. The bushes are characterized by the formation of numerous rosettes, which contributes to good development and propagation. Despite medium susceptibility to strawberry mites, the variety is unpretentious in care and resistant to winter frost. These qualities make Sudaruska a reliable choice for gardeners seeking a stable yield of tasty and aromatic strawberries in northern regions.
