Strawberry variety Elegance — a mid-late summer variety bred in the UK at the East Malling research station. This variety is distinguished by a powerful, well-developed bush of medium height with a compact and erect habitus. The bushes have up to 5-7 peduncles that hold the berries in a suspended state, preventing them from rotting and facilitating harvesting. Fruiting lasts about 4-5 weeks, starting around mid-June, depending on the climatic conditions of the region where it is grown.

The fruits of Elegance strawberries are large, with an even conical or oval shape, bright orange-red in color with a shiny surface. The weight of one berry varies from 20 to 90 grams depending on growing conditions. The pulp is dense, meaty, juicy and very sweet with a characteristic rich aroma that becomes more pronounced upon full maturity. Ripe berries retain their firmness and do not darken for several days, which provides excellent shelf life and high transportability of the products.

The Elegance variety is resistant to most root diseases and pests, has high winter hardiness and adapts to various growing conditions. It is suitable both for traditional planting methods and for the frigo technology, in which seedlings begin to bear fruit massively next season. Yield under intensive agrotechnology reaches 1.2-1.5 kg per bush, with a very high percentage of marketable products. Thanks to its qualities, Elegance strawberries are excellent for sales on the fresh market, from street stalls to large retail chains.
