Description Dutch Red
Dutch Red is a high-yielding variety of red currant with medium-early ripening, prized for its beautiful purplish-red, translucent berries with firm skin and a rich tart-sweet flavor. The ripening period falls at the end of June to mid-July, allowing harvest in early summer. The bushes are vigorous, with wide-rounded or rectangular crowns, ensuring good growth and abundant fruiting.

This variety is distinguished by high cold resistance and drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. With adequate watering, yield significantly increases, and one bush can produce 6.5 to 16 kg of berries. Additionally, Dutch Red is resistant to several diseases and is rarely affected by pests, simplifying plant care and reducing the need for treatments.

Berries are medium-sized, round and translucent, with juicy flesh and a pleasant tart-sweet flavor, making them suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. The variety is self-fertile and the berries do not drop, facilitating harvest and preserving fruit quality until collection.
