Strawberry Gift for the Teacher

Selection Excellence for Commercial Production

"Darunok Uchytelyu" represents a significant milestone in Ukrainian strawberry breeding, developed by the Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS. This variety was engineered to meet the growing market demand for early-season strawberries that offer both visual appeal and the structural integrity required for commercial distribution.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The variety is characterized by its compact habit (20–30 cm tall), which facilitates optimal planting density. With a remarkable frost resistance of -25°C, it is well-adapted to varied climatic conditions, ensuring consistent survival rates in open-field cultivation.

• Maturation Period: Early season (35–40 days), enabling growers to capture the premium pricing of early harvest.
• Fruit Profile: The berries feature a distinct elongated-conical shape with a rich, dark-red skin. The high density of the flesh ensures excellent shelf life and superior transportability.
• Yield Potential: Under intensive farming conditions, the yield consistently exceeds 2.0 kg per plant.
• Disease Resistance: High genetic resistance to common strawberry pathogens reduces the necessity for intensive fungicide programs.

The versatility of "Darunok Uchytelyu" makes it a preferred choice for diverse market needs. Its firm texture is ideal for fresh market retail, while its intense flavor profile and sugar content ensure high-quality results in both culinary applications and industrial processing, including freezing. For the commercial grower, this variety offers a reliable balance of high productivity, durability, and low maintenance requirements.
