Bereginya

The 'Bereginya' strawberry variety is a late-ripening, large-fruited domestic selection developed in 1998 at the Kokinsky Experimental Station in Bryansk through hybridization of Dutch and Russian varieties, specifically Gonzaga and American Concord. This variety boasts high yield, reaching up to 1.2 kg per plant and approximately 15 tons per hectare, making it attractive for commercial cultivation. The berries have an orange-red color, large size—ranging from 30 to 50 grams—and a sweet-tart, juicy, firm flavor, suitable for both fresh consumption and processing into juices, jams, and jellies.

'Bereginya' exhibits high resistance to adverse weather conditions, including frost, heat, spring frosts, and drought tolerance. Additionally, the variety demonstrates good resistance to diseases and pests, reducing the need for intensive chemical treatments and enhancing ecological cultivation. The plant has large, light-green leaves, and the berries have a proper wide-conical shape with a shiny surface, giving them an attractive appearance.

The variety has been included in the State Register since 2012 and has proven to be stable in fruiting across different years. Thanks to its combination of high yield, large fruit size, resistance to climatic and biological stresses, and excellent taste qualities, 'Bereginya' strawberry is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers seeking a high-quality and stable harvest.
