Legin

Legin is a new winter rapeseed hybrid introduced in the 2023-2024 season, distinguished by its high adaptability and tolerance to soil chemical composition. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. It exhibits good winter hardiness, enabling successful survival through cold winters, along with high yield and rapid growth without moisture loss. A distinctive feature of Legin is its flowering support, which reduces the risk of shoot damage from frost and minimizes negative consequences when herbicides are applied late in spring.

The plant forms a robust crown with long lateral branches on a strong stem, promoting maximum pod formation. The hybrid belongs to the simple intensive type, has a medium-early disease resistance group, and a vegetation period of 295 to 300 days. The thousand-seed weight is 3.5-4 grams, oil content reaches 46.4%, and plant height is approximately 168 cm. Key quality indicators include low glucosinolate content (0.4-0.5%) and erucic acid content (0.0-0.5%), making the product more valuable for processing and utilization.

Legin exhibits high resistance to various diseases and stress factors, including drought tolerance, resistance to pod cracking, phoma, black leg, peronosporosis, sclerotinia, alternaria, and bacterial diseases. The hybrid's winter hardiness is rated at 9 points. The recommended seeding rate is 350,000 to 500,000 seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal conditions for achieving high yields. The hybrid’s yield potential reaches 70 centners per hectare, with average yields over test years ranging from 42 to 50 centners per hectare.
