Legion — an early-maturing winter rapeseed hybrid, intended for cultivation in the Polissia and forest-steppe regions. This early-maturing variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 4.5 tons per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — 45%. Plants reach a height of about 177 cm, have straight, round, and branched stems. The 1000-seed mass is 3.8 grams; the hybrid is characterized by low erucic acid content and moderate glucosinolate levels (17 μmol/g), making it a high-quality raw material for the oil industry. The Legion hybrid has high winter hardiness (8 points on a 10-point scale), resistance to lodging and seed shattering (7 points each), ensuring stable yield. Due to its intensive branching, it effectively suppresses annual weeds, contributing to high yield with minimal losses. The vegetative period lasts approximately 282 days. The hybrid is moderately resistant to diseases and pests, facilitating its cultivation and reducing protection costs. Legion is suitable for mechanized cultivation and recommended for all soil-climatic zones of Ukraine. To protect Legion rapeseed crops from a broad spectrum of broadleaf and root-herbaceous weeds, the protective herbicide Legion VG, containing 750 g/kg cloquinal, is applied. This product is effective against such weeds as ragweed, sow thistle, mustard, daisy, and others, and can be used in tank mixtures with other pesticides to enhance treatment efficacy. Cloquinal, the active ingredient in the herbicide, belongs to the synthetic auxin class and causes irreversible hormonal regulation disruptions in weeds, ensuring their reliable destruction and promoting the health of rapeseed crops.
