Rapeseed Luzhok

Winter Hardiness for Diverse Climatic Conditions

The winter rapeseed variety "Luzhok," developed by the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Agro-Industrial Production (NAAS), is designed for farms that prioritize predictable performance. Given the volatility of the Ukrainian climate, this variety shows excellent adaptability, minimizing the risk of crop loss following the winter dormancy period.

Field Application and Agronomic Value

Selecting "Luzhok" is a practical choice for producers looking to optimize the balance between input costs and gross yield. The variety is distinguished by its strong spring regeneration capacity, which is a decisive factor during seasons with prolonged cold weather, ensuring a quick restart of vegetative growth.

• Sowing Efficiency: The variety fits well into standard sowing windows, showing uniform emergence when depth requirements are met.
• Disease Management: Its genetic resistance profile allows for more efficient management of fungal threats, helping to streamline autumn pesticide applications.
• Harvest Logistics: Even ripening is a key benefit of this variety, reducing field losses during combine operations and simplifying harvest planning.

The "Luzhok" variety is well-suited for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. It demonstrates stable yield performance across various soil types, provided that standard crop rotation practices and basic nutrient requirements are managed during the early development stages.
