Rapeseed is an agricultural crop widely used to improve soil quality and increase crop rotation. It has cleansing properties, helps loosen soil structure, and enriches it with nutrients, which is especially important for subsequent crops such as potatoes or corn. Rapeseed is highly frost-resistant and can successfully grow even in cold, snowless winters, quickly gaining green mass in spring, suppressing weed growth and preparing the soil for the next planting. Rapeseed seeds are available in various varieties, including spring rapeseed varieties Lugok, Aira, and Maria, supplied in coated form in paper bags of 15 kg with delivery throughout Ukraine. Also popular are winter turnip seeds of the Brahina variety, which can be sown in spring, late summer, or autumn on different soil types — from light and poor to heavy clay soils. Each package contains 1000 g of seeds, and the back side features detailed instructions on cultivation, care, and sowing times. Rapeseed is used not only in agriculture but also in industry for biodiesel production, as well as in food and chemical industries. Additionally, it is used in medicine and as animal feed. Successful rapeseed cultivation requires fertile soils, adequate moisture, and protection from pests. In the Zholkovsky district, purchase prices for rapeseed amount to approximately 25,200 UAH per ton, reflecting its economic significance for the agricultural sector.
