Description KVIK
KVIK radish is a mid-season, high-yielding variety with bright red, elliptical roots featuring a characteristic white tip. The radish flesh is white, juicy, and semi-spicy, free of cavities, ensuring excellent taste qualities. Root mass is approximately 15-20 grams. The variety is known for its ease of cultivation, drought resistance, and tolerance to temperature fluctuations, allowing it to be grown in open ground as well as greenhouses throughout the season. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant radish in loose, fertile soils with a neutral reaction, such as loamy and clay-loam soils. The optimal temperature for root development is 16-20 degrees Celsius. Sowing is conducted at the end of April – beginning of May to a depth of 1.5-2 cm with a spacing of 5x10 cm between plants. An important condition is observing crop rotation to avoid diseases and pests, particularly cruciferous flea beetles. To increase yield, it is necessary to regularly loosen the rows between plants, water the plants, and apply fertilizers, while avoiding overcrowding. Harvesting is done as the roots form, ensuring they are not left in the soil too long, which preserves their juiciness and flavor. Due to its resistance to adverse conditions and ease of care, KVIK radish is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a stable and quality harvest throughout the season.
