The radish variety "Heart of Moscow Region" is a unique hybrid developed considering the climatic features of the Central region of Russia. This variety is characterized by high yield and excellent taste qualities, making it in demand both for personal consumption and commercial cultivation. The radish is suitable for cultivation in open ground and demonstrates good adaptation to local conditions, ensuring a stable harvest of quality roots.
The roots of the variety have a medium size and an attractive appearance: the skin has a white-greenish tint, and the flesh is a rich red color, resembling a ripe watermelon. The flesh is juicy, tender, and aromatic, with a pleasant semi-sweet taste without the sharpness and bitterness characteristic of other varieties. Thanks to these qualities, the radish "Heart of Moscow Region" is not only tasty but also useful, stimulating the digestive system and possessing a choleretic effect.
To obtain an early harvest, seeds are sown in May at a depth of about 2 cm, and for winter storage—in July, preferably during rainy weather. The radish is cold-hardy; seeds germinate at temperatures of 2-4°C, and young plants withstand frosts up to 2-3°C. Optimal conditions for growth are temperatures of 12-15°C at the initial stage and 16-22°C when roots are forming. The plant requires good lighting and high soil and air humidity, and does not tolerate shading. Roots obtained from a summer sowing are well stored for up to five months without loss of taste qualities.
