PINK PIGLET

PINK PIGLET — a mid-season variety of large-fruited pumpkin with a maturation period from germination to harvest of 105-115 days. The plant is characterized by long vines and branching, which promotes good development and fruit formation. Pumpkins have an elongated oval, elliptical shape with a rounded cross-section. Fruit size reaches 50-70 cm in length and 20-30 cm in diameter, weight varies from 6 to 9 kg, sometimes reaching 15 kg. Skin is smooth, beige color, turning pinkish upon maturity and covered with convex striations, giving the variety a unique appearance.

Pumpkin flesh is orange in color, characterized by tenderness, sweet taste and high juiciness, making it universal for various methods of use. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, home cooking, as well as processing into puree and juices. In addition, the pumpkin is well suited for drying and long-term storage. The yield of the variety is from 3.9 to 5.1 kg per square meter, and when harvesting with the preservation of the stem, fruits can be stored for up to 90 days.

Growing PINK PIGLET involves sowing in seedlings in April followed by transplanting into open ground in May-June. Sowing directly into the ground is also possible at the end of May - beginning of June. The recommended depth of seed sowing is 3-4 cm, and the planting scheme is 100x150 cm, which ensures optimal conditions for plant growth and development.
