MEMORY OF TARAKANOV'S PUMPKIN

The fig-leaved pumpkin variety «Memory of Tarakanov» is a unique crop adapted for cultivation in various climatic conditions of Russia. This perennial pumpkin reaches a length of up to 3.5 meters and is characterized by high yield - up to eight fruits weighing from 2 to 4 kilograms can be collected from one bush. The fruits have white pulp without carotene, but rich in sugars, starch, and pectins, which gives them juiciness, sweetness, and a characteristic watermelon aroma. The seeds are large, black, and maintain viability for up to nine months after harvesting. Growing through seedlings contributes to an increase in the number of fruits.

«Memory of Tarakanov» is characterized by high resistance to powdery mildew, fusarium wilt, and root rot, and also has a strong immunity, which reduces the risk of damage by pests and fungal diseases. The plant has a well-developed root system, thanks to which it withstands a lack of moisture and frosts down to minus three degrees. In addition, the variety does not cross-pollinate with other types of pumpkins and serves as an excellent rootstock for melons and watermelons.

The fruits of this fig-leaved pumpkin are versatile in application. They are used to make candied fruits, marmalade, jam, sweet desserts, jelly, as well as vegetable stews, salads, casseroles, and puree. Ripe fruits can be stored for up to four years, which makes the variety convenient for long-term storage and use in the food industry and household.
