Pumpkin Big Max

Dutch breeding for high-yield production

The 'Big Max' hybrid is a product of Dutch breeding, officially registered in 2025. Its market introduction responds to the demand from growers for a crop that combines impressive fruit size with predictable genetics. In Ukraine, the variety was officially registered in 2025, confirming its adaptability to local climatic conditions and compliance with UPOV standards.

Morphological features and potential

At the core of 'Big Max' is a simple hybrid formula that ensures harvest stability. The plant develops a long main stem and medium-sized leaves with a moderate green color. One of the key characteristics is the fruit shape: round, with a large diameter and medium length. The surface of the pumpkin is smooth, with characteristic shallow grooves, which facilitates maintenance and transportation.

Visually, the fruit stands out with a moderate orange base color. An important detail for processors is the seed size: the seeds of this hybrid are large, making it promising not only for culinary use but also for specialized production. The yellow flesh has a dense structure, and the large diameter of the floral scar indicates high fruit development intensity during the ripening period.

Why 'Big Max' occupies its niche

Choosing this hybrid is justified for farmers focused on marketability and stability. Because the variety was created using industrial breeding methods, it demonstrates high fruit uniformity. The absence of cork formation on the fruit surface makes it attractive for retail, while the medium length of the peduncle simplifies the harvesting process. In 2025, 'Big Max' is positioned as a reliable solution for obtaining large, uniform fruits with predictable flesh and seed characteristics.
