Description Gileya
Gileya — a medium-ripening muscat pumpkin variety, distinguished by its versatility and high transportability. The fruits have a spherical, oval, or short cylindrical shape, with an average weight of 6–8 kg. The skin is thin, light brown with a pinkish hue and a waxy coating, giving the fruits an attractive appearance and aiding in long-term storage. The variety is resistant to powdery mildew, enhancing its reliability during cultivation.

The flesh of Gileya pumpkin is red-orange, 4–8 cm thick, juicy, crisp, and very sweet. Due to these qualities, the variety is widely used in culinary applications and is suitable for processing into dietary food products. Additionally, it can be utilized in industrial production and as animal feed, making it versatile and in demand.

Growing this variety requires sowing seeds in early June at a soil temperature no lower than +15°C, with a density of 2–3 seeds per hole. The period from germination to fruit maturity is 100–110 days. Harvesting occurs in September, when the fruit stem begins to dry and the rind hardens. Gileya pumpkin has excellent storability and can be stored for up to 12 months, allowing for prolonged use after harvest.
