Winter wheat variety Samurai — a high-yielding German variety, suitable for cultivation across the entire territory of Ukraine, especially effective in regions with sufficient rainfall. The plant is of medium height, approximately 80 cm, with a spike type and high grain count per spike. The thousand-grain weight is about 45 grams, indicating large grain size. The vegetation period is medium-maturing and lasts from 281 to 288 days. The yield potential of this variety in Ukraine can reach up to 100 centners/ha when intensive cultivation techniques are applied.
The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, ensuring stable yields even when growth regulators are not applied in a timely manner. Additionally, Samurai is resistant to stem breakage and various diseases, making it a reliable choice for agronomists. The ecological plasticity of the variety allows successful cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones, as well as adaptation to medium and late sowing dates.
To achieve maximum productivity, it is recommended to apply complete mineral fertilizers and microelement topdressing. Sowing rates vary depending on sowing dates: early — 3.0 million seeds/ha, optimal — 4.0 million, late — 4.5 million. Due to its characteristics and resilience, Samurai wheat ensures trouble-free threshing and high-quality grain, making it attractive for agricultural production.
