Hortița

Sunflower Hortița is a simple, non-hybrid variety with a long growing period, ranging from 118 to 122 days. This robust, medium-height plant can reach 160-180 cm under adequate moisture. The hybrid has medium leafiness, around 30-34 leaves, and medium-sized stems and heads, ensuring optimal development and yield formation. Growth intensity during the early vegetative stage is moderate, promoting even crop development.

The Hortița hybrid exhibits high genetic yield potential, exceeding 55 centners per hectare in some regions of Ukraine. The sunflower seeds are characterized by high quality and oil content ranging from 48-52%, making this variety attractive for oil production. The root system is strong and deep, penetrating more than 2.5 meters into the soil, ensuring the plant receives necessary nutrients and resilience against adverse conditions.

Additionally, Sunflower Hortița is resistant to most pathogens and pests, reducing the risk of crop losses. However, to maintain plant health, regular monitoring and protective measures against diseases such as false powdery mildew and rust are recommended. Due to its characteristics and reliability, this hybrid has been one of the national standards among mid-season sunflower hybrids since 1996.
