Kyzyl Pionera x Yellow Hop. Variety from the Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Cultivation. Breeders: K.K. Mullaev, F.M. Gasymov. Introduced into the State Register in 2004 for the Ural region.
Tree medium-sized. Crown spreading, medium density and foliage. Bark color (on sunny side) dark. Young shoot: anthocyanin coloration at tip (10-15 cm long shoot) weak. One-year-old shoot: many lenticels, protruding, size of protrusion under vegetative bud small, branching weak. Bud (vegetative and generative) small, slightly deviated. Leaf blade elliptical, medium size, intensity of green coloration on upper side dark, base blunt, apex shortly acuminate, tip angle sharp. Margin doubly serrated, serration weakness slight. Petiole medium length and thickness, anthocyanin coloration on upper and lower sides medium, one gland, medium size. Flower medium, stigma above stamens. Petals inversely egg-shaped, degree of closure — loose. Calyx triangular. Pedicel short. Flowering and fruiting type — predominantly on shortened shoots (bouquet branches and spurs).
Fruit mass 17 g, round shape, seam fine. Depth of fruit stalk indentation medium. Tip shape flat, point absent. Surface smooth, main skin color yellow, anthocyanin coloration absent. Flesh yellow, fibrous texture, flesh density medium. Degree of seed attachment to flesh weak. Seed oval, mass medium, constitutes 6.2% of flesh, color (fresh) brown, apex shape rounded, dorsal suture narrowly open, ventral suture medium, central rib expression medium, lateral ribs weakly visible. Detachment from flesh good.
Fruit appearance excellent (5.0 points). Flesh sugar content high, acidity low, aroma medium. Taste rating excellent (4.5 points). Fruit stalk detachment dry. Transportability good. Horticultural use — universal variety. Technological use — for compote, jam. Dry matter content low (14.2%), sugars — 10.0%, ascorbic acid — low (4.5 mg/100g).
Flowering period medium. Ripening period medium. Age of entering fruiting late (at 4 years). Variety partially self-fertile. Fruit production good, annual. Yield high.
Winter frost damage to shoots and branches slight (1-2 points). Flower bud damage from winter frosts and spring frosts present. Drought resistance medium.
