Description Nenka
Plum variety "Nenka" — this is a Ukrainian selection with early ripening, characterized by high yield and stable fruiting. Medium-sized trees with round, moderately dense, and compact crowns, which facilitates care and harvesting. The variety is highly winter-hardy and resistant to diseases, allowing cultivation almost throughout Ukraine without frequent chemical treatments. Fruit production begins as early as the third year after planting, and mature trees can yield up to 50 kg of plums annually, with a tendency for yield to increase each year.

"Nenka" plums are large, weighing from 70 to 90 grams, oval or barrel-shaped, with medium-thick, elastic purplish-bordeaux skin. The fruit surface is covered with a thin waxy bloom and barely noticeable lenticels beneath the skin. The flesh is bright yellow, firm, juicy, with a pleasant sour-sweet taste and delicate aroma. The stone is medium-sized and separates easily from the flesh, making the plum convenient for fresh consumption. Fruit quality is high, and they retain freshness for several weeks.

Partially self-fertile, however, for increased yield, it is recommended to plant pollinating varieties such as "Chachakskaya Lepotika" or "Renklod Altana" alongside. Plum "Nenka" is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing due to its excellent flavor qualities, which have received high tasting ratings. Seedlings are typically grafted onto wild apricot rootstocks, ensuring good yield and adaptability to various soil types, including heavy clay and waterlogged soils.
