Phlox Vals

Stability and Aesthetics for Your Garden

The 'Vals' phlox is a product of Elena Konstantinova's breeding work, known for its reliability and consistency in northern climates. For a gardener, this means a predictable maintenance cycle: this perennial does not require annual seedling propagation or complex winter protection, as it overwinters well and recovers rapidly after the snow melts.

Maintenance and Performance

The standout feature of this variety is its large flower size (4–5 cm), which creates dense, perfectly rounded inflorescences. When managing this plant, consider the following:

• Placement: An excellent choice for formal flower beds. The stems are robust and maintain their structure well, eliminating the need for support stakes even during high winds.
• Care: Requires standard phlox maintenance: moderate watering without waterlogging the roots and regular fertilizing during the budding phase. The variety responds well to mulching, which simplifies root-zone maintenance.
• Longevity: Like most phloxes by Konstantinova, 'Vals' possesses strong immunity. When planted correctly, the bush remains decorative for 5–7 years, after which simple division is recommended to maintain vigor.

If you are looking for a robust, low-maintenance solution for your flower bed that delivers consistently large, showy blooms, this variety is an essential tool in any gardener’s toolkit.
