Phlox Mirage

Flowering Architecture of the 'Mirage' Phlox

The 'Mirage' phlox (Phlox paniculata), bred by Elena Konstantinova, represents a benchmark in perennial plant selection for professional landscaping. The primary technical advantage of this cultivar is the stability of its pigmentation: the soft pink petals with a distinct carmine eye retain their color saturation even under intense sunlight, preventing the fading commonly observed in lighter floral tones.

Biological Parameters and Resilience

• Growth type: robust perennial reaching heights of 70–80 cm.
• Stem structure: high stem rigidity allows the plant to maintain its structural integrity without the need for additional stakes, a crucial feature for formal garden borders.
• Adaptation: the cultivar exhibits superior winter hardiness, ensuring reliable development and longevity in varying climate zones.

Practical Application in Garden Design

In landscape architecture, 'Mirage' serves as an effective element for middle or background planting. Due to its dense foliage from the base to the inflorescence, it excels at concealing the lower parts of other plants. The dense, conical panicles provide aesthetic uniformity when planted in large groups in flower beds. Given its long blooming window and low maintenance requirements, 'Mirage' is a technically sound choice for creating permanent, low-intervention perennial borders.
