Tulip Frosta

Elegant Fringed Beauty for Late Spring Gardens

The «Frost» tulip represents the pinnacle of elegance among fringed varieties. Its primary asset is the deep, rich red color of the petals, which, combined with the signature «frosty» fringe along the edges, turns each bloom into a miniature piece of art. Unlike taller tulip varieties, this cultivar remains notably short, making it an indispensable choice for refined landscaping.

Key Advantages

• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits a robust natural defense against root rot, cercospora, and beet yellows virus, simplifying maintenance and minimizing potential losses of planting material.
• Compact Growth: Thanks to its low-growing stem, «Frost» is highly resistant to lodging, even in strong spring winds. It is an ideal choice for the foreground of flower beds, container gardening, and pristine border arrangements.
• Late Bloom: This variety opens its buds just as most other tulips begin to fade, effectively extending the peak aesthetic period of the spring garden.

Is this the right choice for you?

«Frost» is a find for those seeking the perfect balance between visual appeal and low maintenance. It is particularly recommended for gardens with dense, heavy soils where the risk of root-related diseases is higher than average. This tulip requires no staking, retains its form perfectly, and keeps its vibrant color intensity until the very end of the growing season. However, keep in mind that due to its late blooming cycle, it is best planted in combination with other plants to maintain the visual appeal of the flower bed before the buds open.
