Quasimodo

The Quasimodo peony is a hybrid with semi-double and double flowers, classified as mid-late blooming. The flower is large, reaching up to 20 cm in diameter, has a loose structure, and features a purplish-pink hue with a lilac tint. The distinctive feature of this variety is the flower's whimsical shape, with petals curled in different directions, giving the plant a unique decorative appearance. Each stem produces 2 to 4 lateral buds, ensuring prolonged and abundant flowering.

The peony bush is tall, reaching 90-100 cm in height, with thick stems that may bend under the weight of large flowers, so the plant requires additional support. The leaves are large, green, and glossy, further enhancing the bush's appearance during the vegetative period. The planting material of this variety was obtained from breeder V.F. Horobets, guaranteeing high quality and varietal purity of the plant.

In addition to its decorative qualities, the Quasimodo peony also possesses medicinal properties. Studies have shown that the roots of this variety contain significant amounts of biologically active substances, such as polyphenolic compounds, homopolysaccharides, ascorbic acid, carotenoids, gallic acid, and gallotannins. Due to this, the Quasimodo peony is promising not only as a decorative plant but also as a source of medicinal raw materials.
