Description

Cheremshina Pear — a winter variety, obtained by crossing the varieties Bere Gardi and Josefine Mechelnska. The tree is fast-growing, with a narrow pyramidal crown that requires bending branches during framework formation. The tree height exceeds 3 meters, and fruiting begins on the 3rd–4th year after planting. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and is suitable for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions.

The fruits of Cheremshina Pear are medium to large, weighing from 150 to 250 grams, pear-shaped, with yellow-green skin that turns rich yellow or yellow-orange upon ripening. The flesh is creamy, tender, juicy, and oily, without granulation, with a pleasant slightly tart-sweet flavor and aroma with subtle rose notes. Harvesting for consumption occurs in early October, while consumer readiness arrives in December or early January. Under natural conditions, fruits remain until the end of December, and when stored in a refrigerator, they can be kept until the end of February or March.

The Cheremshina variety is known for its early fruiting, regular fruiting, and high yield — up to 60 kg per tree. Due to its good growth rate and resistance to diseases, it is a promising option for commercial orchards and private plots. Saplings of this variety are suitable for planting in various climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
