Winter variety from the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Selection, obtained by hybridization of 814 x PA-29-1-1-63 in 1981. Breeders: E. N. Sedov, Z. M. Serova, V. V. Zhданov, E. A. Dolmatov. In 1992, the seedling was selected for elite status and in 1995 it was submitted for State Testing. Since 2002, it has been included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem and Central regions of Russia.
Suitable for cultivation in intensive orchards.
Medium-sized trees, moderately growing. Pyramid-shaped crown, medium density. Main branches branch off the trunk at a right angle, straight, compactly arranged, with tips pointing upwards. Bark on the trunk and main branches is peeling, brown.
Branches of medium thickness, curved, round in cross-section, greenish-brown, hairy. Buds numerous, small. Buds pressed, medium size, conical, hairy. Leaves medium, elongated, egg-shaped, long-pointed, with spirally twisted tips, dark green, wrinkled, shiny, with coarse veins. Leaf blade curved downward, medium hairiness. Leaf margin serrated, wavy, rolled. Petiole long, medium thickness, hairy.
Flower buds hairy, medium size, semilunar. Flowers medium size, white, petals oval. Inflorescences umbellate, with 4-6 flowers per inflorescence; buds rose-white; flower flat, medium size, with rose-colored, slightly closed oval petals; stigmas at the level or slightly below the anthers. Flower stalk medium length. Fused style of pistils without hairs.
Fruits medium size (average mass 130 g), medium uniformity, elongated-conical, slightly ribbed, tapered at the apex. Fruit skin smooth, oily, shiny, without bloom. Main fruit color greenish-yellow, covering color — mostly in the form of rose stripes. Subcutaneous dots medium size, green, clearly visible. Peduncle short, thin, straight, oblique. Calyx medium depth, acute-conical, narrow, with significant rusting. Calyx cup open in large fruits. Receptacle deep, medium width, ribbed. Fruit core large, elliptical. Seed chambers open, medium size. Sub-calyx tube medium length and width, conical. Seeds medium size, egg-shaped, brown.
Fruit flesh creamy, dense, tender, fine-grained, juicy, good taste, with a weak aroma. Due to its attractive appearance and taste, the fruits are rated 4.3 points, whereas control variety Antonovka Ordinaria was rated 4.1 for appearance and 4.0 for taste. Chemical composition of the fruit: total sugar content — 10.9%, titratable acids — 0.76%, ascorbic acid content — 10.7 mg/100g, P-active substances — 412 mg/100.
Harvesting maturity occurs at the end of September; consumer period lasts from October to mid-February.
The variety is relatively early-bearing. Rootstock tree in a selection orchard fruited by the 8th year. First fruits appeared on grafted trees on stock 3-4-98 by the 3rd year. Over the last 4 years, average yield was 150 centners/ha, whereas control variety Antonovka Ordinaria yielded only 65 centners/ha. The variety is winter-hardy, immune to scab (gene Vf).
