Description Carefully Cultivated (Improved Yellow Bere, Yellow Bere)
This autumn pear clone was obtained through artificial mutagenesis — treatment of cuttings of the 'Yellow Bere' variety with radiomutagens. Authors: L.A. Kotov and A.S. Tikhonova (scientific institutions: G.N.U. VNIIGiSPR and Sverdlovsk Selection Station for Horticulture). Registered in the State Register of the Russian Federation for the Volga-Vyatka region since 2002. Widely distributed in Ural regions and the Pre-Urals as a high-quality, productive variety.
Trees are highly winter-hardy, medium-sized, with well-filled, rounded, sturdy crowns. Branches emerge from the trunk at a fairly wide angle and grow upward at an incline. Leafiness is dense. Bark on the trunk and base of scaffold branches is cracked and gray. Predominant types of fruiting structures — simple and compound clusters, spear-shaped fruits, rarely short fruiting twigs.

Shoots of medium thickness, straight or slightly curved, with round cross-sections, brown (reddish-brown), without pubescence, with medium-length internodes. Buds are few, medium-sized, grayish. Buds are recurved, smooth, rounded, medium-sized. Leaves are medium-sized, egg-shaped or broadly egg-shaped, with rounded bases and tapering, slightly elongated tips, thin, light green, flat, smooth, matte, with fairly coarse venation, no pubescence. Leaf margins are finely toothed, pointed, entire and smooth. Petioles are medium length, thin, unpubescent. Inflorescences are large in terms of flower number. Flowers are small, white.

Fruits are medium-sized, weighing 90–120 g, one-dimensional, egg-shaped with regular shape, uniform in size and form. Fruit surface is smooth, non-ribbed, smooth, skin dry and tender. Main color is light yellow, pure, without covering. Subcutaneous dots are small, barely noticeable, without rust. Pedicel is medium in length and thickness. Receptacle is small and narrow, calyx is open, subcalyx tube is very short, usually cup-shaped.
Flesh is creamy, medium density, very juicy, tender, close to oily type, without stone cells, full, excellent or superior tart-sweet flavor, with rich flavor profile and pleasant aroma. Core is small, seed chambers are very thin and tender, not noticeable when eating the fruit. Appearance is attractive. Taste evaluation is excellent.
Fruits contain 14.0% soluble solids, 0.72% titratable acids, 11.2% sugars (sugar-acid ratio 15.6), ascorbic acid — 9.3 mg/100g flesh, catechins (vitamin P) — 362.9 mg/100g flesh. Do not forget that varieties derived from wild Ussuri pear are rich in arbutin.
Seeds are of medium quantity, large, egg-shaped, dark brown.
Flowering is early. Flowers are frost-resistant. Harvesting maturity of fruits occurs at the end of September — beginning of October (late-ripening). As an autumn variety, fruits reach consumer maturity quickly in warm rooms, slower in cool environments, and are consumed fresh for 2–2.5 months.
Age of fruiting onset is medium, trees are long-lived. Self-sterile, well-pollinated by most other varieties.
Highly productive, like most Ural pear varieties. Fruit set is regular, fruits do not drop. Transportability of fresh fruits is medium, marketability is medium or above medium. Maximum storage life of fruits is 75 days, although careful harvesting has shown retention for up to 130 days (in ordinary storage, without artificial cooling). For culinary use, fruits are suitable for dessert and table consumption, also appropriate for various types of technical processing.
The variety tolerates severe winters of Central Ural well, flowers are resistant to spring frosts. Drought tolerance is medium, heat tolerance is low. Not affected by diseases. No pest damage has been observed.

Advantages of the variety: one of the best autumn pear varieties for the entire northern zone of Russia.
