Onion Bonita

Technological Potential of Bonita Onion

The Bonita bulb onion hybrid from "Agromatco-Ukraine" is a high-performance solution for professional farming operations focused on large-scale commodity production. The breeding of this hybrid prioritizes a balance between the density of protective scales and storage potential.

Agrotechnical Parameters and Structure

• Vegetation period: 100–110 days, classifying the crop as mid-season, which is optimal for the majority of climatic zones in Ukraine.
• Fruit morphology: The classic round bulb shape ensures uniform packaging density and minimizes damage during the sorting process.
• Harvesting technology: Genetic uniformity of the bulbs and neck strength adapt the variety for mechanized harvesting, a critical factor given the ongoing labor shortages.

Application and Usage

A key advantage of Bonita is its specific optimization for processing. The dense flesh structure and high dry matter content make this variety highly sought after by producers of canned goods and dehydrated vegetables. Its ability to maintain structural integrity under mechanical stress reduces raw material losses during transportation from the field to the processing facility. This hybrid demonstrates stable yields in intensive fertilizer schemes while requiring precise irrigation management during the final maturation stages to ensure maximum shelf life.
