Sabroso

Sabroso F1 onion is a medium-late hybrid of long-day bulb onion developed by Nunhems from the Netherlands. This high-yielding variety has a long maturation period — the harvest is ready 120-125 days after seed germination. The plant is medium-height with strong, well-developed dark green leaves covered with a waxy coating, which enhances resistance to physical damage and improves adaptation to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including both southern and northern regions. Sabroso F1 prefers early sowing and cultivation in open ground, and is suitable for mechanical harvesting. The bulbs of this hybrid are large, round, with a diameter of 50-70 mm and weight of 100 grams. They are characterized by uniformity, density, and strong light-bronze or light-copper-colored scales with a thin neck. Due to high dry matter content and specific structure, the bulbs maintain their market appearance and flavor qualities for a long time — up to 7-9 months when properly harvested and dried. This makes Sabroso F1 an excellent choice for long-term storage and market sales. The hybrid shows high resistance to major onion diseases such as pink rot and fusarium (HR – Pt/Foc), significantly reducing the risk of crop losses. Recommended plant density is 800-1000 thousand per hectare, which ensures maximum yield. Due to its adaptability and resistance, Sabroso F1 is a reliable and profitable solution for onion cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine.
