NEVIX onion is a high-yielding winter hybrid of white bulb onion, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. It is characterized by large, perfectly round bulbs of bright white color with dense and juicy inner scales. The average bulb weight ranges from 160 to 200 grams, and the diameter varies between 70-80 mm. The covering scales are hard, whole, and sturdy, ensuring good product preservation. The inner scales have a pleasant sweetness with a slight spiciness, making this variety particularly attractive for fresh consumption.
The plant features a powerful dark green leaf apparatus and a branched root system, contributing to active growth even under unfavorable conditions. NEVIX onion is resistant to freezing and does not bolt, which improves crop quality. The hybrid also exhibits high resistance to a wide range of diseases and pests, reducing the need for intensive plant protection.
NEVIX onion seeds demonstrate high and uniform germination. Sowing is recommended from the second half of August to the end of September at a rate of 1.0-1.25 million seeds per hectare. The onion is suitable for cultivation in open ground on various soil types and is excellent for both fresh market sale and processing. Due to its taste qualities and vitamin content, this variety is widely used primarily in fresh form.
