Onion KOMADORI

Field Performance: The Komadori Advantage

For growers looking to balance high yield with exceptional shelf life, the Komadori onion hybrid, provided by Summit Agro and developed by the renowned Kaneko Seeds, represents a professional choice. With a maturation cycle of 120–130 days, this variety is engineered for those who demand reliability in the salad onion segment.

Harvest and Agronomic Specs

The variety delivers a consistent yield of 70–90 tons per hectare. Its rounded bulbs, averaging 90–100 grams, meet market demand for perfectly calibrated produce. Because the variety is optimized for hand-harvesting, the integrity of the bulb is maintained from the field to the sorting facility. This manual handling approach significantly reduces bruising, which is vital for long-term storage.

Storage and Market Quality

Komadori features a distinctive dark-bronze skin that acts as a robust barrier for its clean, white inner flesh. The real competitive edge lies in its storage potential: 6–7 months. For a producer, this means the ability to bypass early-season market saturation and wait for better pricing. The mild, salad-grade flavor profile, combined with its structural density, ensures that the product retains its commercial appeal long after the harvest season has ended.
