Onion KRAHAVCHIK

Reliable red onion yields: the potential of the "Krasavchik" variety

For farms focused on the fresh produce market, choosing the "Krasavchik" hybrid from the company "Heterozisnaya Selektsiya" (Heterosis Selection) is a pragmatic decision. This is a mid-season bulb onion that demonstrates high adaptability to growing conditions, ensuring consistent marketable quality during periods of peak demand.

Agronomic features and production cycle

The vegetation period is 90–100 days. This timeframe allows growers to successfully utilize "Krasavchik" both in direct-seeded crops and in transplant production. The elliptical bulb shape ensures convenience during mechanical harvesting and subsequent packaging: such bulbs pack more tightly into containers and are less prone to damage during transit.

Advantages for commercial distribution

• Visual appeal: The deep red skin color and attractive shape make the product stand out on retail shelves, simplifying interactions with end consumers.
• Efficiency: Uniform maturity allows for scheduling harvest within tight timeframes, which is critical for large-scale operations.
• Reliability: The variety demonstrates predictable development, minimizing the risk of losing marketability due to sudden fluctuations in temperature or humidity during critical bulb-forming phases.

Recommended for farmers who are looking for a balance between yield potential and the aesthetic qualities of red onions, which are highly sought after in both the HoReCa segment and retail trade.
