Onion Bravo F1

Dutch breeding excellence for the professional market

The 'Bravo F1' onion, developed by the renowned Dutch seed company Nickerson Zwaan, has firmly established itself within the professional vegetable industry. This hybrid was engineered specifically for intensive farming systems. Under the guidance of originator Willem P. Van Haecke, the focus was placed on versatility, making this onion a prime choice for both commercial processing and the fresh-cut salad market.

Agronomic performance and yield

The standout feature of this hybrid is its exceptional yield potential, frequently exceeding 100 tons per hectare, positioning 'Bravo F1' as a leader in efficiency within its class. With a growing cycle of 90 to 100 days, it is classified as a mid-season hybrid, perfectly suited for producing high-quality yields throughout the main harvesting season.

• Visual characteristics: The bulb features a distinct round shape and a clean, crisp white color.
• Weight specifications: A mature bulb typically ranges between 200 and 250 grams.
• Application: Renowned for its mild flavor profile, it lacks the pungent bite of traditional storage onions, making it an ideal candidate for fresh salads. Its firm structure and density also ensure suitability for large-scale industrial processing.

The Dutch genetics provided by Nickerson Zwaan guarantee consistent performance; bulbs are highly uniform in both shape and size, which is a critical requirement for mechanized harvesting and efficient post-harvest handling. In the professional seed market, this hybrid is highly regarded for its predictable performance and high marketable yield per unit of land.
