Description ARZAMASSKY LOCAL
Arzamassky Local is an old variety of onion of folk selection, bred in the Nizhny Novgorod region and maintaining its popularity among gardeners due to its qualities. The bulbs have an oblate-cubic shape, are dense, with an average weight of 60 to 90 grams, with golden or dark yellow with brown tinge dry skin and white juicy flesh. The taste of the onion is sharp, which makes it universal for various culinary purposes.

The variety belongs to mid-season, ripens in an average term and is distinguished by high yield - from 1.4 to 3.2 kg per square meter. Onion is well suited for mechanized harvesting, has good transportability and storage, which facilitates its storage and transportation. Recommended planting is 0.6–1.0 kg of seeds per 10 m², with sowing in March-April at a depth of 2–3 cm and row spacing 27–30 cm.

Arzamassky Local onion requires timely care, including watering, feeding and soil loosening. Despite high yield, the variety has low disease resistance, especially susceptible to powdery mildew, however resistance to downy mildew and onion fly is noted. Growing zones cover Russia, Ukraine and Moldova, which confirms its adaptability to various climatic conditions.
