Description POGARSKY LOCAL IMPROVED
Pogarsky Local Improved is an early-maturing variety of onion, distinguished by high yield and universal purpose. The bulbs have a round-flat or flat shape, yellow color of dry scales, and white flesh with a sharp taste. Bulb mass varies from 30 to 80 grams, while individual specimens can reach up to 280 grams. The variety is characterized by good storability and suitability for mechanized harvesting, which facilitates the crop collection process. The period from emergence to technical maturity is 108 to 135 days, which allows for an early harvest.

This onion is valued for its rich taste and aroma, as well as for its high content of vitamins, minerals, and bioflavonoids, making it beneficial for health and an effective means in the fight against colds. Bulbs are dense and juicy, with white flesh, sometimes with a greenish tint in the neck area. The variety is suitable for cultivation in both open and closed ground, preferring fertile and light soils, especially during bulb formation.

Cultivation technology includes sowing seeds in April at a depth of 2-3 cm and subsequent transplanting of seedlings at a depth of 4-5 cm at a scheme of 27-30 on 3-4 cm or 20 on 12 cm. Timely watering, thinning, and fertilizing are recommended until July, after which watering and fertilizing are discontinued. Harvesting is conducted in August when leaves begin to yellow and droop. Yields reach 1.5-2 kg per square meter, and 3 to 9 new bulbs can form from each bulb. The variety is suitable for storage and recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Ukraine, Moldova, and Russia.
